I made it to the Philippines!!! It feels so good to be here. I left my home in Buffalo at 4:00am on Wednesday and was welcomed and hugged by Sister Aileen at 7am on Friday in Tacloban, Philippines! The time inbetween was full of wakefulness and movement, but my travel days were not too bad at all. Must be getting used to it!!
However, I am still not at my home away from home. I have a 4 hour van ride to Borongan. It shouldn't be too bad, and thanks to a gift from the American people, the road to Borongan is smooth...thanks American people!!!!! I will be spending a few days in a barrio called Souhutan where one of the mission houses is, Providence Home. There I will join the Poor Household of God as they finish a novena to St Francis, their patron, and celebrate his feast day on October 4th. Providence Home is one of the houses that does not have the Internet, so I will not be able to update my blog again for a few days. But rest assured that I will be writing and taking pictures to share with you as soon as I am able.
I will be praying for you during these days of celebration with the Oikos Sisters. Please pray for me too!!! Many thanks and much love!!! Xxoo, Sarah
